The Data City, a Leeds, UK-based company providing data and insight to the public and private sectors, raised £2M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Oxford Economics.
The company intends to use the funds to enhance its global data infrastructure, expand its services for UK-based multinational clients, and provide working capital to support its rapid growth.
Led by CEO Alex Craven, The Data City provides a DaaS platform that helps industrial classification, particularly focusing on the emerging economy. Working with government and private organisations, the platform allows policymakers, economists, investors and analysts, among others, to access real-time data on the dynamic quantum sector and its companies, to define industry sectors more accurately and relevantly than Standard Industrial Classical (SIC) codes.
